These scans go beyond what a manual review of your system is able to uncover. Identifying vulnerabilities and their severity is the first step to prioritizing and fortifying your defenses.
Vulnerability scans are often undertaken as part of a larger Risk Management initiative or as part of maintaining a System Security Plan. Weaknesses uncovered may be remediated based on the results of the Risk Assessment or in compliance with a standing Vulnerability Remediation Program.
